My name is Dr. Leona Matl-Belden and I had laser eye surgery by Dr. Blotnick to correct myopia (near-sightedness.)
I just wanted to express my gratitude for all the special care and attention that I had received. It was so comforting to have my ophthamologist himself (instead of a mid-level practicioner) see me for all of my pre-operative and post-operative visits. I never felt rushed and my wait time for appointments was very reasonable. Dr. Blotnick answered all of my questions diligently before the procedure. During the procedure, he patiently talked me through every step. After the procedure, he made sure that I would get quality rest and saw me for follow-up promptly.
Since then, I have been seen at regular intervals and have been very pleased with my results. I would highly recommend this procedure to anyone who qualifies for laser eye surgery. It has made my life essentially care-free. Also, not having to touch my eyes with contact lens wear has decreased the chance of eye infections and corneal abrasions. My name is Louis and to say that my life is active would be an understatement. I have been teaching martial arts for about 12 years now and also teach PE at a Charlotte area pre-kindergarten- eighth grade school. I have worn glasses since ninth grade and struggled with many challenges associated with them, from flinging them off my face while performing a quick movement to crushing them underfoot or in my gym bag. Contacts were no better a solution for me because for one, my days begin about 4:00 am and don't end until after 10:00 pm. Another reason is that one of the martial arts I do involves grappling, and that close contact always dislodged, or often popped them right out. Correctional surgery was not even an option for me with the severity of my astigmatism, or so I thought. That changed with the technology and skill that Dr. Blotnick and his staff presented to me, and now I'm happy to be glasses and contacts free for two years now with 20/15 in both eyes. Dr Blotnick and his staff were always courteous, professional, and accommodating of my schedule....they made it easy.

When I started searching for a LASIK surgeon, I wanted to find the best one for my only pair of eyes. To me, that meant having an Ophthalmologist perform the initial exam, answer all my questions, do the procedure and follow up with me on any concerns I may have. I found out that this is exactly how Dr. Blotnick at Mecklenburg Eye Associates does it, so I chose him.
That was about 1 year ago. Everything went perfectly, there was no pain and now my vision is 20/15. I have thrown away my glasses, contact lenses and everything else that goes with it. I couldn't be happier with my choice.

I am writing my comments on my cataract surgery which was performed the summer of '07 by Dr. Bedrick. how wonderful it is to see the world in all its vivid colors through my distance/reading vision as Dr. Bedrick gave me monovision. How wonderful it is to get back my peripheral vision as I had lost that sight with having the cataracts. To be able to see obstacles/people , etc.. on either side/behind me is of immeasurable value. I am able to enjoy reading so much more now as I can see so well with my "New Eyes". Thank you for giving me back my world Dr. Bedrick.
